Gaming icon Markus “Notch” Persson, who is also the creator of Minecraft, has given a new gift to VR lovers, titled as Unmandelboxing, a VR tech demo that can even run in browser.
For those who are unware of Notch’s program—which takes advantage of a few mathematical equations to generate shapes bound by a defined set of geometric rules.
Notch had initially donated $$10,000 to Oculus’ original Kickstarter campaign, but he became critical of the VR industry after that. With the rise in the popularity of Minecraft he became uncomfortable with the questions and scrutiny about the company.
Eventually, he sold it to Microsoft in $2.5 billion in 2014. Experts are surprised with the recent release of Unmandelboxing and they consider any involvement of Notch as an encouraging his involvement in the VR scene in any context is encouraging.
Notch is a giant in the digital world and someone with as much of a following as him toying with VR is likely to encourage others to do the same.
